

This photo is of one of the many beautiful vistas. In the very bottom of this valley is cultivated olive groves. In the far distance is a finger of the Aegean Sea, and at the waters edge is a small town. It's hard to believe but this was taken from our restaurant window.
This is the Parthenon as it looks today. We've all seen pictures in books of the great structures of the world and we expect them to look that way when we get there, which is seldom the case. Notice the scaffoling all around the structure. All ancient structures such as this are in a constant state of repair due to air pollution.
I was in Greece recently on vacation and wanted to post a few pictures to illustrate what the country was like. The picture at left I wanted to insert because in the background can be seen the dry vegetation, which is mainly untended olive trees. If you've seen the news lately about Greece, this and other scrub brush is what's burning throughout the country.This image is of the Temple of the Oracles at Delphi.
